Former NFL receiver Henry Ruggs III, on trial since 2022 for murdering a young woman and her dog for drunk driving, was sentenced this Wednesday as guilty of the case.

Ruggs received his sentence on the manslaughter charge after he At the beginning of November 2021, he ran over Tina Tintor and her dog Max for driving his Lamborgini at over 150 miles per hour while intoxicated.

As if that were not enough, he also ended up injuring Kiara Je’nai Kilgo-Washington, his fiancée and who is also the mother of his only daughter.

The guilty handed down by the jury indicates that Ruggs will have to spend between three and 10 years in prison in Las Vegas, Nevada, this after pleading guilty to the charges against him.

“I sincerely apologize,” was the 24-year-old’s response.something that did not go down well in the defense of the Tintor family.

“The sentence will not bring Tina back. What we hope, more than anything, is that other drunk driving and reckless driving deaths can be prevented.. It ruins lives. It destroys families,” said Farhan Naqvi, the family’s lawyer.

The star and Super Bowl runner-up showed his support at all times for Ruggs due to their friendship dating back to the time they shared at the University of Alabama.
